Following a disappointing draw in the CAF champions league preliminary round first leg at Kasarani, Tusker has marched on to Mauritius heads high aware of the task ahead of them. The 1-1 draw means Tusker has to win this match to advance to the first round and ASPL 2000 are also up to task and ready to please their local fans.
Brewers will be looking to improve on the home leg performance which left a lot to be desired as they surprisingly failed to secure a win in their home ground.
Speaking to tusker.co.ke, captain, James situma said,
“We actually here to give our best and not to waste time. The balls which 22 men are after, with no eyes and ears, is what we are looking at. Nothing is going to scare us, we believe we can do it, you know its champions league…”
The team had a chance to train at the New George V stadium in Curepipe, Mauritius yesterday in preparation for the second leg CAF Champions league match will be played today at 1515hrs (GMT) and 1415hrs (EAT)
George Nsimbe, speaking to tuskerfc.co.ke said,
“ The pitch is a little slippery today, we have been using a lot of energy but now we need to put in more energy. More than that, the pitch is very favorable.”
He leads the team positively by adding on that,
“When we are determined nothing can stop us from winning. It’s the last moment to decide either to remain in the tournament or to be knocked out.”
