Tusker FC came from a first half goal down to get a sweet home win of a 2-1scoreline against Nakumatt FC in a match played at Afraha Stadium on Wednesday 26 April,2017.
The away team dominated the first minutes of the match and capitalized on the chance at the seventh minute of the game courtesy of a goal from Boniface Akenga. Few minutes later, Mandela almost made the scores level but his shot hit the bar to prevent him from getting into the score sheet and then followed Michael Khamati with a well taken shot but Okinda was to quick to grab it.
Tusker FC came back in the second half eagerly yearning to win the match with Nsimbe making quick substitutions introducing Clifford Alwanga for Allan Wanga. The Brewers kept pressing the away teams half with Okinda and his defense line facing pressure from the partnership of Abdul Hassan and Clifford Alwanga. Their efforts paid off in the 75th minute when Clifford Alwanga found the back of the net with a powerful header to level the scores from a corner kick assist from Shafik Batambuze. Three minutes later, Humphrey Mieno scored with a header to make the scores 2-1 in favour of Tusker.
Speaking to tuskerfc.co.ke after the match, Coach said, "I thank the boys because coming from a goal down and then winning the game it was not easy and today at least the boys were focused from the first whistle to the last. Though we conceded an early goal, the boys kept the same focus.We are improving a game after a game."
