Tusker FC dominated the match creating numerous opportunities to score, but it stayed goalless in Saturday evening’s Kenya Premier league match at Ruaraka Stadium.
Tusker started as the better side with Macharia and Achema looking lively on the wings. In the first few minutes of the match the Ugandan had a shot at goal already that made Owiny stretch wide making it a corner take. On the other side of the pitch, Brewers defense was solid with Ambunya returning on his powerful left side and Kasadha making some excellent clearance from the back.
There was another chance when Hashim Sempala after a pass by Jackson Macharia met him but his shot was awaited by goalkeeper Allan Owiny. Minutes later Timothy Otieno missed a sitter after a well taken pass by Peter Nzuki.
Thika's only shot came from Mata Masikidi but was tipped over by goalkeeper Byrne Omondi making it rather quiet first half.
The second half continued like the first with Brewers wasting a lot of chances and dominating ball possession. Muyoti’s side was not left behind as they also were eager to go front and destabilize Timbe’s defense but nothing came out of it.
Sam Timbe decided to bring in the pacy Boniface Muchiri for Robert Achema and last substitution bringing in Mathew Odongo for Jackson Macharia.
Slowly, Tusker once again started to build up the pressure on Thika united side as substitute Odongo laid a cross which was missed by Muchiri who was through on an open goal.
Tusker were clearly the better side at the end, but the game ended in a draw with both teams picking a point.
