Goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure made a return from a shoulder injury in the game against AFC Leopards. He has kept consecutive cleansheets, being man of the match in the Leopards game as well as another shut-out against Mathare United in the last fixture.
The Rwandese international had been ruled out with a shoulder injury picked up while on international duty, but worked hard to make a return and a positive one for that matter.
“I really feel delighted to have come back and done well in two games. The period out was very difficult as is for any player who misses matches due to injury. But I kept my patience and worked hard in training when I returned,” the keeper says.
He adds; “Even when I was injured, I was still coming to training daily and following up with matches just to make sure that I am close to the team and do not feel away. This helped me when I came back because I understood how the team has been playing and what I needed to do,”
“Now we have some heavy tasks coming up with the next seven matches and our target is to ensure we fight for maximum points in every game because we want to battle for the title,” the keeper further notes.
Emery has urged his teammates to make sure they maintain the focus and momentum heading into the tough run of fixtures.
