Midfielder Jackson Macharia has dedicated his February player of the month award to his mum, attributing his success and good performance on the pitch to the support she has received from her.
Macharia showcased impressive performances during the entire month of February, scoring three goals.
He stepped off the bench to score the winner in the last minute in a 1-0 victory over Wazito FC, also stepped off the bench to equalize in the 2-1 win over Nzoia Sugar and scored one of the four goals in a 4-1 victory over Posta Rangers.
“I dedicate this award to my mum because she has been very supportive of all my endeavours and has been there for me all through. To me she’s the best and she is part of my success,” Macharia said.
“I really feel grateful to be rewarded by the team but it is not just my effort. I has been a collective team effort and everyone has been working hard from the technical bench to the players. As a team we are pleased with the performance we have had,” he says.
The midfielder added; “This is a motivation to keep working hard and make achievements for the team. We need to ensure that the performance remains on top and for me, I will keep giving my best for the team.”
Tusker FC Treasurer Ben Ochieng congratulated the midfielder stating; “Macharia has worked hard for the team and despite the fact that he has been coming off the bench, he has proved to be one of the best. As a club, we will continue supporting our players and motivating them to ensure that they have the morale to keep getting positive results.”
