Ahead of a crucial run of three games, Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano says the next three matches will be very crucial as far as the league title hunt is concerned.
The team takes on defending champions Gor Mahia on Thursday afternoon before playing second placed KCB on Sunday at Utalii and then face off with third placed AFC Leopards in Thika next week.
“These games will be all about mental strength and the physical condition of the players. We must be okay in all those. We also need to be very organized as a team because these are cruel matches and we must handle the situation well,”
“I am happy because I have players who can handle these games and also dictate terms. We know how they are; their strengths and weaknesses and we will prepare accordingly to win,” added the boss.
Meanwhile, he says the game against Gor will not only be important for the points, but also to measure up against a team that has prior experience in playing continental football, especially now that Tusker has qualified for next season’s CAF Champions League.
“If we want to play and do well in the Champions League, we have to test ourselves against teams which have been there before. This will be a good game for us to look at where we are and what we need to do more,” stated the coach.
