Tusker easily beat coach Paul Nkata’s side Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 in a Sportpesa premier league encounter at the Bukhungu stadium on Saturday afternoon. The goals were scored by Boniface Muchiri who has been on fine form bringing his collective goals to eight.

The win elevated Tusker to position six on the log.

Muchiri opened the score in the 2nd minute after a well calculated pass from Faraj Ominde met him next to the net and he immediately placed it on the far end of the goal post. It was a beauty.

Tusker was clearly the better side, putting the home side under continuous pressure.

Minutes later, Timothy Otieno and John Kamau showed off their skills displaying one-two touches at each other; finally Timothy Otieno’s shot was punched by Andika for on play only to find John Kmau readily available to pick the rebound and cross it to Muchiri who headed in the second goal in the eighth minute.

The half-time score ended at 2-0. Upon resuming the final lap Coach Robert Matano made some changes bringing in Jackson Macharia, Oliver Maloba and Brian Osumba for Faraj Ominde, Boniface Muchiri and John Kamau respectively.

Former Brewers, Allan Wanga, Noah Wafula and George Mandela tried all they could to cut in Tusker’s defense but the Brewers were very solid at the back.

It was an entertaining second half since Tusker continued to raid the Homeboyz defense line with Oliver Maloba and Timothy Otieno missing chances in front of the goal.

It was a well-deserved win by the Brewers on the road.

Tusker will meet Bandari FC next on Sunday 12 August at Ruaraka.
