Boniface Muchiri’s 64th minute goal was all Tusker FC needed to seal maximum points from Ruaraka and move to the fifth spot on the Sportpesa premier league table after Round of 26.
Muchiri curved the ball beautifully after a pass from Timothy Otieno sending it to the right side corner of the away team goalpost raising his goal tally to eight.
Tusker looked better from the onset attacking with more confidence and with two early strikes from David Juma and Boniface Muchiri. Juma had a chance but the keeper came out off is line to deny him whilst Muchiri with a free kick which the away keeper punched it out for on play.
After recess, Osumba Brian was withdrawn for John Kamau in a bid to strengthen the midfield and push more numbers forward. Minutes later Matano made a forward change introducing Sydney Ochieng for David Juma.
After the hour mark, Tusker were seen to be terrorizing zoo Kericho’s backline with Timothy Otieno losing a chance when he tried to chip the ball past the goalkeeper after breaking through the defense but the goalkeeper once again remained solid.
Four minutes later, Justine Omary was fouled and his well taken free kick reached Timothy who was in the opponents box and headed it out for Muchiri who curved it straight into the net to give Tusker the much awaited advantage.
Timothy Otieno was later withdrawn in the last stages of the match introducing Peter Nzuki.
With the 1-0 Tusker moves to number five and play Sony Sugar next in Awendo on 25th August, 2018.
