Head coach Robert Matano has warned his charges against taking lightly Saturday’s Football Kenya Federation Cup game away to Bungoma’s Mihuu United at the Sudi Stadium.
The brewers take on the FKF Second Division Club in the first round of the Cup as they look to kickstart a journey to the title they last won in 2016.
“In football, there is no small or unknown team. It is a matter of how you handle yourself against your opponent. We are prepared for any team whether it is unknown or plays in the lower division. IN football when you reach the pitch, you are all equal,” Coach Matano states.
He adds; “It’s a matter of how you organize yourself and think about how you are going to play, score goals and win the match. For us, that is our goal; to play well and win the match to progress to the next round.”
Coach Matano is expected to make some rotational changes to the squad to give new players an opportunity while also giving a rest to those who have played in all the opening matches of the FKF Premier League season.
To prepare for the game, Coach Matano organized a friendly match against National Super League side Kibera Black Stars which the team won 4-3 and the tactician says he was impressed by the spirit and the performance of his players.
“We have prepared well for this game and from the friendly I could see that the players are sharp and looking good. They are ready and responding well,” the coach noted.
