Chris Ochieng scored perhaps one of the best goals in his career on Sunday, volleying a swinging shot from 40 yards out for Tusker’s third goal against Vihiga United.
The striker who was just making his second start of the season says the goal was off pure instinct and a will to score.
“It was pure instinct because I was aware of my positioning and I also was given a lot of space to try the shot. I was really pleased and happy to score,” Ochieng says.
The striker was delighted with not only his goal but also his performance over the last two matches he has started.
“I have really worked hard to get a chance and when it came I took it with both hands. Scoring is a wonderful feeling and I thank God. I also thank my teammates for the effort that we have been putting in training. This has been a long time coming and I also want to thank the technical bench for the belief they have put in me,”
“This is a very good motivation for me and it gives me the energy and a clear mind for the next game. It is the beginning of another journey and I believe God will open up more. I feel in very good shape because my body is okay, my touch is okay and now it is just a matter of putting in the work,” added the striker.
