Being part of the team that clinched a League and Cup double in 2016, Tusker FC captain Hashim Sempala says the team is treating every tournament with equal seriousness and every trophy that is there to challenge for bears significant importance to the club.

The skipper says the boys are looking to start their Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup campaign strong when they take on Bungoma-based National Division Two Club Mihuu United at the Sudi Stadium on Sunday.

“Yeah the tournament is important for us and knowing we have a chance to do a double is a motivation for us. The platers are ready and focused on the tournament. We know it’s a knockout tournament so we are psyched up for it and determined to proceed to the next round,” Sempala notes.

Despite playing a team three divisions lower, Sempala says they will treat the game with the same seriousness they would treat a league match.

“Any team that comes to play in the Cup tournament is a good team so for us, it is not important which division they are in. We take every game as an equal game and we prepare seriously for it. We know that Cup tournaments always have surprises and we cannot risk to take the game lightly,” stated the midfielder.
