Head coach Robert Matano and goalkeeper Patrick Matasi have been nominated in the 2018 Sportpesa premier league awards.

Joining Tusker before the June transfer period and enabling Tusker finish at position 3 from 16 in the SPL table, Coach Robert Matano has been nominated in the coach of the year category whilst Patrick Matasi has been nominated in the golden glove category.

Matasi joined Tusker in the June transfer window and has since played 13 matches and has kept 9 clean sheets. Matasi has been instrumental both in the club and national team. Since joining Tusker he has had 3 call ups to the national team playing against Ghana, Malawi and Ethiopia and having clean sheets out of all.

The nominees were announced at the KPL headquarters in Westlands on Thursday afternoon.

As change is inevitable the club will experience some changes before the2018/19 season commence in December.

Patrick Matasi has been allowed by the Club to go negotiate his move with Ethiopian, St. George football club who had shown interest in him. Since joining Tusker there was a mutual agreement on a clause that the team will not deny him a chance to go have trails outside the country when the opportunity arises. More news on the same will be communicated next week upon his return.
