Tusker FC forward Boniface Muchiri has said the team needs to continue working hard to ensure they remain on top of the standings, adding that the league is at a crucial stage where everyone needs to be together.

Muchiri scored the equalizer in Thursday’s game against Gor Mahia as the team came from a goal down to beat the defending champions 2-1 at Ruaraka. He hopes the team can continue in the same line of form when they take on second placed KCB in Thika on Sunday afternoon.

“There is no shortcut; we must continue working hard because every game is very tough. We need to plan ourselves well ahead of the game against KCB and we have to believe that everything is possible,” said the forward.

Looking back to the game against Gor, Muchiri was full of praise for the team’s effort.

“It was a very important match and one that we really needed to win. We fought as a team, coming from behind to win. We knew that once we just got that one goal, we would get the winner and we worked really hard to ensure we had the three points,”

On his freekick goal; “I usually train on freekicks alone and that has been one of my strong points since when I was in High School. For me, if I train on 10 and only score one, that is usually my motivation and what I carry into the game.”
