Timothy Otieno and David Juma scored the two goals in the rescheduled SportPesa Premier League (SPL) clash at Ruaraka grounds on Monday to edge out Sofapaka FC in a 2-1 encounter.

David Juma scored his first goal since joining Tusker from Bidco united fc in the June transfer period as the win elevates Tusker up to eighth on the standings with 33 points.

Speaking after the match on his goal Juma said,” I thank God and my team mates at large having scored my first goal for Tusker. You know Football is about pressure and yes I have always played wanting to score since it’s my role; in the match I just composed myself and am glad I achieved by scoring.”

The match had been rained off on Sunday after 17 minutes of play forcing the center referee Alex Ondima and other match officials to halt the proceedings for the following day.

Sofapaka took the lead in the 37th minute of the match when Elly Asieche float in the ball to find former Tusker man Kevin Kimani who headed in the first goal for the away team. Minutes later Otieno converted a 40th minute penalty after a handball from Sofapaka to create Parity at Ruaraka. Two minutes later through Timothy Otieno’s assist Juma coming from the midfield easily sent the ball to the far post leaving Kigonya well beaten.

Speaking to www.tuskerfc.co.ke, Coach Robert Matano said,” We are happy we picked maximum points from the game. Despite the weather affecting us yesterday which was nobody’s fault and we could not control it all we did was to remain focused on the match. The game was hard and I am glad we managed to contain it.”

“I hope we carry on with this kind of performance in the remaining matches.”

Tusker will once again face Sofapaka in the SportPesa Shield quarterfinal.
