Defender Jimmy Mbugua believes he can work harder to be a more consistent figure in the team after earning his debut in last weekend’s Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup tie in Bungoma Mbugua who was promoted from the youth team played the match at right back.
“I wasn’t expecting to start but you know as a player, you must always be ready when called upon. I took the chance and I performed to my level best. I was really pleased to have that opportunity to play,” Mbugua says.
He adds; “I have been waiting for the chance and when I was given, I didn’t think twice about giving my best. I usually play as a central defender but the coach saw my potential on the rightback and I performed to my level best and I delivered in that position.”
Mbugua now says he is ready for matches for the club noting; “Tusker is a big team and when given the chance, I will never let down the club. I have to do my best.”
He has also encouraged other players in the youth team to always be ready and give their best to follow in the same path he took.
